What is Alignment?

Alignment—shortened from tire or wheel alignment—refers to the angles of tires as they contact the road. When properly aligned, tires will wear evenly, and your vehicle will go in a mostly straight line without having to adjust the steering wheel. However, when a vehicle’s suspension is misaligned, tires tend to wear unevenly, causing all sorts of issues. You’ll also notice significant pull to the left or right while driving, often paired with steering wheel vibration. Improper alignment affects the efficiency of your vehicle, as well causing your tires to wear out prematurely.

How Do We Fix It?

Our certified technicians will check the camber, toe, and caster of your suspension. The camber is the inward/outward tilt of a tire when viewed from the front. Toe is the inward/outward tilt of your tires when viewed from above. Caster refers to the angle of your steering axis as seen from the side of your vehicle. Each irregularity causes its own specific set of problems. Luckily, with our laser alignment system, we can quickly and precisely realign your suspension to make sure that your vehicle is operating optimally.

Here at Hall Collision and Service, we welcome questions of all kinds. We would be happy to look at your vehicle and fix any problems you may have. You can schedule online or call us directly.
